Activities in and around Broadway and the Cotswolds

There are numerous activities in and around Broadway, the Cotswolds and our Cotswold holiday cottages that will appeal to all ages.

Walking:

With over 5000km of footpaths and rights of way, the Cotswolds offers great walks in beautiful countryside. From Broadway and other local villages numerous trails and circular walks are possible. The Cotswold Way and the Wychavon Way both pass through the village and across our grounds here in Broadway. On site we have laundry facilities and a Drying Room for our guests to use to dry any wet walking clothes and boots.

Visit www.nationaltrail.co.uk/cotswold-way for more information about the Cotswold Way.

Riding:

Our nearest riding stables are at Jill Carenza, Washpool Equestrian Centre, Stanton. Whether you are an experienced rider or a complete novice Jill will have the right horse for you. One to one tuition or group rides from 1 – 5 hours are available. For more information visit www.cotswoldriding.co.uk.

Cycling:

Cycling is becoming increasingly popular in the Cotswolds and with many cycle tracks there are great opportunities for off-road cycling. The local cycle hire companies Cycle Cotswolds, based in Chipping Campden, will deliver and collect hired cycles to our cottages. On site we have secure storage for bicycles.

Stargazing:

The big dark skies above our Cotswold holiday cottages are a wonderful feature of the Cotswold countryside. With our low levels of light pollution on a clear night from our tranquil grounds you can see the Milky Way and several thousand stars sparkling all around.

Alternatively, the viewing area at the Neolithic Rollright Stones at nearby Long Compton on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border has been awarded Dark Sky Discovery Status and is now part of The Dark Sky Discovery network, an online map of all the fantastic places that more and more people have easy access to, for a good view of the night sky.

Clay Pigeon Shooting:

At the Cotswold Shooting Ground, Buckland Road, Childswickham. See www.clay-pigeon-shooting-cotswolds.co.uk for more information.

Golf:

Broadway Golf Club on the Cotswold escarpment above the village welcomes visitors see www.broadwaygolfclub.co.uk for more information.

We have an abundance of information leaflets in the cottages detailing all you need to know about local activites, attractions and events throughout Worcestershire and the Cotswolds so that you can plan your next day’s visits at leisure. If there’s anything further you need that we don’t have to hand, staff at the Broadway Tourist Information Centre in Russell Square are there to help.
