Broadway Manor Wood

A Queen’s Green Canopy and Coronation Wood in Broadway in the Cotswolds

Planted in early 2023, Broadway Manor Wood is recognised as a Queen’s Green Canopy. The Queen’s Green Canopy was a unique tree-planting initiative to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The initiative invited people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”. Over 750 trees were planted along West End, Broadway, in the Cotswolds by Ross and Deborah Williamson, of The Manor House, West End, Broadway, to mark the occasion.

Further trees were added in 2023 to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and the wood now comprises over 900 British native trees edging the field along West End once known as “The Garstans”. The Cotswold Way National Trail passes alongside the wood so it is possible to visit and see how this newly planted wood for the enjoyment of future generations is growing. Some of the trees were supplied by the Woodland Trust and the NFU. Varieties planted include: English Oak, Alder, Silver Birch, Goat Willow, Grey Willow, Holly, Beech, Hawthorn, Hazel and Dogwood.
