What’s On in 2020

2020 is packed with events, ranging from world famous international festivals like the Broadway Arts Festival, Cheltenham Literature Festival and Cheltenham Gold Cup Week to quirky events like the Cotswold Olimpick Games, Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling or Tetbury Wool Sack Races.  There are major musical events like the Wilderness Festival, Cornbury Festival or the Big Feastival, as well a packed events calender featuring music, exhibitions, arts and literature festivals, theatrical productions.

10th-13th March: The Cheltenham Festival, Cheltenham Racecourse featuring the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Bank Holiday Monday 25th May: Gloucestershire’s Cooper Hill has been host to the traditional Cheese Rolling event since the 1800s. The slope on Cooper’s Hill in Gloucester, the setting for the world-famous event, is in fact so steep that very few contestants manage to stay on their feet, instead tumbling head-over-heels down the hill in a desperate effort to catch the coveted dairy prize – a weighty 8lb Double Gloucester.

Friday 29th May: Cotswold Olympick Games at Dover’s Hill between Broadway and Chipping Campden, with events starting at 5pm ending with a torchlight procession down the hill into Chipping Campden.

5th-14th June: Broadway Arts Festival in and around the village of Broadway. A wide range of lectures, workshops, art, music and theatrical events for all the family. Tickets available to book via the Festival’s website.

2nd- 11th October: Cheltenham Literature Festival

Late Night Christmas Shopping from 5.30 to 8.30pm. Enjoy a lovely festive atmosphere under beautiful twinkling Christmas lights, accompanied by festive music and food, mulled wine whilst Christmas shopping in the village.

What’s On in 2019

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th April: Wartime in the Cotswolds with Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR)

Taking place over the last weekend in April, this GWSR event will feature train travellers and visitors to Broadway dressed in 1940s’ costumes. Trains will be running throughout the weekend between Cheltenham Racecourse Station and Broadway on the beautiful GWSR heritage railway line. Display of wartime vehicles and music at Broadway Station. To apply for tickets from GWSR click here.

23rd April to 21st June: The British Asparagus Festival

Celebrating the best of British Asparagus across a number of events in the Vale of Evesham.

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th May: Broadway Horse Trials at Lybrook Farm

A weekend with lots of offer from dressage and show jumping to cross country racing. Shopping and food stalls. All within 10 minutes’ walk from our holiday cottages at Lybrook Farm on the Snowshill Road.

Friday 31st May:  The Cotswold Olimpicks

Held at Dover’s Hill between Broadway and Chipping Campden, the Cotswold Olympics are returning on Friday 31st May with events starting at 5pm ending with a torchlight procession down the hill into Chipping Campden.

13th & 14th July: Broadway Car Show – a weekend of Supercars, Classic and Vintage Cars

A weekend of beautiful cars in beautiful Broadway. Saturday will be devoted to modern supercars with a display of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Morgans and Aston Martins. Sunday’s display will be devoted to classic and vintage cars. Over the weekend there will be a car parade through the village, food on the village green, music and much more.  

Sunday 21st July: NCH Country Fair and Dog Show 1pm to 5pm

Held on the Kennel Field, Broadway WR12 7DL in the centre of the village, the Fair and Dog Show will feature: Terrier Racing, Family Dog Show, Dog Agility, Gourmet Food and Drink Stalls, Local Crafts, Bouncy Castle and a display of Classic Cars.

Saturday 14th September: Broadway Horticultural and Craft Show on the Village Green

Held in a marquee on the village green the Show features lovely displays and arrangements of locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, baked goods, jams and craft items. Entrance in to the marquee from 1pm.

Sunday 15th September: Broadway Food Festival on the Village Green from 10am to 4pm

Food Festival on the village green featuring local artisan producers, cooking demonstrations by local chefs and food stalls. Discover the best of local food and drink in the area!
