William Morris (1834-1896) was a frequent visitor to Broadway during the 1880s. Morris, along with fellow Pre-Raphaelite artists, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones, used Broadway Tower on top of the Cotswold escarpment overlooking the village as a summer retreat.
